An independent alternative to dealer service for your Rolls-Royce

A Rolls-Royce is built to be driven without a second thought, and it should be serviced the same way: on schedule, by people who explain what they find. Our Delray Beach service department works on luxury and European cars every day, and many of the owners we see are already familiar with Presidential from buying or selling a car with us.

Owners usually come to us once the factory warranty has ended, when they want a second opinion on a large estimate, or because the nearest authorized retailer is a long drive from home. Before we recommend anything, we review the car's service history, listen to what you have noticed and confirm the cause.

Many of our clients split the year between South Florida and somewhere else. A car that sits through the summer has its own needs, from battery care to fluids that age whether or not the car is driven, and we plan service around when you are in town.

Common Rolls-Royce concerns and what we check

These are the issues owners most often call us about. The same symptom can have more than one cause, so each item starts with diagnosis, and we explain what we found before quoting a repair.

  • One corner sits low, or a ride-height warning appearsAir springs and struts for leaks, compressor run time and output, valve block, height sensors and the suspension control module.
  • Drivetrain malfunction or check engine messageFull module scan, misfire and fuel trim data, ignition coils and spark plugs, boost and vacuum leaks on the twin-turbo V12.
  • Oil spots or a burning smell after drivingValve cover gaskets, turbocharger oil lines, the oil pan and other common seep points, cleaned and dye-tested if needed.
  • Coolant warning or temperature climbing in trafficPressure test, hoses and quick-connect fittings, water pump, thermostat, radiator fans and expansion tank.
  • Brake noise, vibration or a wear warningPad and rotor thickness, wear sensors, caliper operation and brake fluid condition on a car that weighs close to three tons.
  • Car will not start, or battery messages after storageBattery health and charging system, parasitic draw testing, and modules that stay awake after the car is locked.
  • A/C blowing warm or uneven in South Florida heatRefrigerant charge and leak test, compressor, condenser and fans, plus blend door and climate control faults.
  • Dawn roof slow, stuck or leakingHydraulic pump and fluid, roof sensors and microswitches, seals and drain paths.

If a red warning appears, or the car warns of low oil pressure or overheating, stop in a safe place and call us. We can help arrange transport rather than have you drive it in.

Rolls-Royce service for the car you own

Modern Rolls-Royce models share a great deal of engineering, but each generation has its own systems and service needs. Tell us the model and year and we will confirm what is involved.

Ghost

First generation (2010 to 2020) with the 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12, and the current generation from 2021 with all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering and the Planar suspension system. Maintenance, suspension, cooling and electrical work.

Cullinan

The all-wheel-drive SUV, introduced for 2019, including Black Badge and Series II cars. Brakes, air suspension, scheduled service and diagnostics for a heavy vehicle that is often driven daily.

Phantom

The seventh-generation Phantom (2003 to 2017), including Coupé and Drophead Coupé, and the eighth generation from 2018. Air suspension, electrical diagnosis and careful routine service.

Wraith

The twin-turbo V12 fastback coupé built from 2013 to 2023. Scheduled maintenance, brakes, oil and coolant leaks, and electrical concerns.

Dawn

The four-seat convertible built from 2015 to 2023. Roof operation and seals, A/C, suspension and routine service for a car that sees plenty of sun.

Spectre and older models

For the all-electric Spectre or a pre-2003 Rolls-Royce, please call first so we can confirm whether the work you need is something we can take on.

Whether a particular repair is a fit for our shop can depend on the model year, powertrain, fault, required equipment and parts availability. We will tell you before you bring the car in.

Presidential or an authorized Rolls-Royce retailer?

Both have their place, and the right choice depends on the car and the work it needs.

Choose an authorized retailer for

Repairs covered by an active factory warranty, open recalls, manufacturer service plans and software campaigns. We will tell you if one of these applies to your car.

Consider Presidential for

Maintenance and repairs once the warranty has ended, a second opinion on a large estimate, seasonal pre-storage and return checks, and service closer to home in south Palm Beach County.

A note on warranties: under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer generally cannot void your warranty only because maintenance was done by an independent shop. What matters is that service follows the factory requirements and is documented.

Rolls-Royce service questions

Does Presidential Auto service Rolls-Royce vehicles?

Yes. Our Delray Beach service department handles maintenance, diagnostics and repair on modern Rolls-Royce models, including the Ghost, Cullinan, Phantom, Wraith and Dawn. Presidential is an independent service center, not an authorized Rolls-Royce retailer. Tell us the model, year and what you are noticing, and we will confirm the next step before you bring the car in.

Do I have to take my Rolls-Royce to the dealer for routine maintenance?

Not for routine maintenance. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer generally cannot void your warranty only because maintenance was performed by an independent shop, provided the work follows the factory requirements and is documented. Repairs that are covered by an active factory warranty, a recall or a manufacturer service plan should go to an authorized Rolls-Royce retailer, and we will tell you when that applies.

What does it mean when my Rolls-Royce shows a suspension or ride height warning?

A ride-height or suspension message usually points to the air suspension system: a leaking air spring or strut, a compressor that is working too hard, a valve block or height sensor fault, or a related electrical issue. If one corner sits low or the car will not rise, avoid long drives and call us. We scan the suspension control module, check for leaks and test the compressor before recommending parts.

Can you diagnose a Rolls-Royce warning light or drivetrain malfunction message?

Yes. We scan the vehicle's control modules, review stored and intermittent fault codes, and road test the car when it is safe to do so. A fault code tells us which system to investigate, not which part to replace, so we confirm the cause before quoting a repair. If a red warning appears, or the car warns of low oil pressure or overheating, stop driving and call us to arrange transport.

How much does Rolls-Royce maintenance cost?

It depends on the model, mileage and which service the car is due for. A routine oil service costs far less than a major service that adds brake fluid, filters and spark plugs, and brake work on a heavy car like a Cullinan or Phantom is a significant job of its own. Call us with the model, year, mileage and any service message on the display, and we will give you a written estimate before any work begins.

My Rolls-Royce sits for months while I am away. What should be checked before I drive it again?

Cars stored through the South Florida summer commonly come back with a weak or drained 12-volt battery, low tire pressures, aged brake fluid, and A/C or suspension faults that only show up once the car is used again. We test and charge the battery, check tires, fluids and brakes, scan for stored faults and make sure the climate control is working before the car goes back into regular use.

Do you work on the Rolls-Royce Spectre or older pre-2003 models?

Please call first. The all-electric Spectre has high-voltage systems that require specific equipment and procedures, and pre-2003 Rolls-Royce models use very different engineering from today's cars. We will tell you honestly whether the work you need is something we can take on, or whether another facility is the better choice.
